It’s a very short book at only pages but I came away with a LOT of thoughts on the book that I’d like to write down and see what others think. Whenever you read anything about the Haunting of Hill House, you’ll see it described as ‘one of the best ghost stories of all time’. However, making time to write down certain things, such as our daily experiences, our goals, and our mental clutter can change the way we live our lives. Most people need to write out their thoughts—think them through on paper—in order to systematically make changes in their outlook on life. "My thoughts sound stupid when I see them written.

The use of italics for thoughts, however, can create a greater narrative distance, setting readers outside of the character and the events of the scene. The reader may feel herself an outsider to the character’s thoughts, reading them, as if they were reported to her, but not hearing or experiencing them for herself.

Book reviewing is, in a sense, the final phase of the publishing process. After that, it is all up to the reading public.
